Clinical Trial of Hexomilones^(¢ç) on Several Dermatoses



Abstract
Hexomilones¢ç, a topical antieczematous drug containing hexamidine di-isethionate 0. 1% and. triamcinolone acetonide 0. 1%, is effective in microbial eczemas or superinfected dermatites..
The study was undertaken to evaluate the therapeutic effect of Hexomilone¢ç in 63 cases of dermatoses including 10 cases of contact dermatitis, 9 cases of seborrheic dermatitis, 8 cases of atopic dermatitis, 7 cases of neurodermatitis, 8 cases of paronychia, 8 cases of impetigo, and 13 cases of dyshidrotic eczema. The patients visited the department of dermatology in Ewha Womans University hospital from May, 1984 to August, 1984 and were treated with Hexomilone¢ç, two times daily.
The results were as follows;
1) Among 63 patients, it revealed excellent effects in 17 patients (27.0%), good effects in 24 patients (38.1%), and fair effects in 14 patients (22.2%).
2) Effective therapeutic response was noted in 90% of patients with contact dermatitis, 100% of seborrheic dermatitis, 75% of atopic dermatitis, 85.7% of neurodermatitis, 87. 5% of paronychia, 87.5% of impetigo, and 84.6% of dyshidrotic eczema.
3) During the observation period, erythema on the topically applied area developed in one case.
